Rum from Virgin Islands of the U.S

Rum from Virgin Islands of the U.S

Located between the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, the Virgin Islands enjoy a hot and humid climate, perfect for the development of sugar cane. Before their acquisition by the United States at the beginning of the 20th century, the American Virgin Islands belonged to Denmark. They are now separated in two: a part belonging to the United States and another to Great Britain. There are completely different production styles within the archipelago.
In the American part, in Sainte Croix, the Nelthtropp's distillery produces light rums and single barrels. While in the English part, in Tortola, the Callwood family distillery produces pure cane juice rum in a more traditional way. Different brands such as AH Riise or Pusser's Rum are available for purchase.
