Grenada

Located north of Trinidad and Tobago, nicknamed the spice island, Grenada, inherits a long history of rum. Four distilleries are located on the island. They share styles, distilling molasses or pure cane juice. If sweet molasses rums are appreciated for export like the Six Saints brand, on the other hand River’s Antoine, with pure juice and powerful aromas seems to be particularly appreciated by the islanders. Its export is very recent to the delight of amateurs! Another distillery is now causing a stir: At the end of the 1990s, the rich terroir of the island inspired the whiskey magnate, Mark Renier, by creating Renegade Rum distillery. Its range highlights the different varieties of sugar cane and each is distilled in column or in pot still.
