These localities all refer to a single estate whose first owner, de Chazal de Chamarel, was descended from a family that came from the Pays de la Loire in France. A domain is synonymous with a set of plots of land that share a common history. Who remembers that the name of one of the most illustrious sons of the soil, the writer, intellectual and artist Malcolm de Chazal, is associated with the founders of the Chamarel estate? The History of Chamarel Distillery

Chamarel Distillery was founded in 2008 on a part of the magnificent La Crevasse estate previously owned by sugar industry pioneer Louis Regnard. Located near the picturesque Valley of Colors and the waterfalls of the Black River, the fertile lands of this region have been used for sugar cane cultivation since the early 20th century.

Over the years, the distillery has evolved to include manufacturing processes that blend modernity with ancestral know-how. Today, it features a highly technological production area, a retail shop, and a visitor center.
