In the heart of Guadeloupe, one distillery has stood out over the years due to its exceptional quality rums: this is the Reimonenq distillery. With its expertise and fascinating history, it continues to captivate the palates of rum enthusiasts worldwide.

The rich and captivating history of the Reimonenq brand

Founded in 1916 by Joseph Reimonenq, this Guadeloupean distillery is today led by the fourth generation of the Reimonenq family. It's a family-owned enterprise, deeply rooted in its heritage and culture, which has passed on its art and passion for rum for over a century.

It all began with Joseph Reimonenq's purchase of an old sugar factory. A visionary and shrewd man, he transformed this abandoned site into an innovative and efficient distillery. Over the years, Joseph's descendants took over the reins of the company, modernizing the distillery while respecting the traditions upheld by their predecessors.

Today, Reimonenq is a must-see

Now recognized as one of the major distilleries in the Caribbean region, its goal is to showcase the vast gustatory and cultural riches inherent to this beloved insular territory. Hence, the Reimonenq brand is now synonymous with Guadeloupe and the cultural melting pot of its lands.

The unique expertise of the Reimonenq distillery

A key aspect of Reimonenq distillery's success lies in its respect for tradition, as much as its continuous drive to innovate, adapting to market changes and consumer expectations.

The rigorous selection of ingredients

To ensure the quality of their rums, the Reimonenq team places great emphasis on the selection of raw materials. The sugarcane used by the distillery comes exclusively from the most suitable terrains for its cultivation on the island of Guadeloupe.

It is harvested at optimal maturity and then carefully transported to the distillery to be crushed soon after cutting. Thisprocess yields a juice rich in aromas and flavors, which is subsequently used to produce the various rums of the Reimonenq range.

Traditional and meticulously orchestrated distillation

With the aim of preserving the intense aromas and flavors of the sugarcane, Reimonenq favors traditional column distillation, following ancestral Guadeloupean methods.

This technique is renowned for its ability to faithfully capture the original aromatic bouquet of the raw material. Thanks to this method, proven over several generations, Reimonenq's rums retain all their richness and unique character.

Aging and meticulous blending

Within the Reimonenq distillery, rum aging is conducted in carefully selected American or French oak barrels, imparting subtle woody notes to each vintage, which complement the natural aromas of the spirits.

The master blenders then step in to craft meticulous blends, always seeking to create a harmonious balance between the distinctive character of each rum and the influence of the wood over the years of aging.
