Capucana

The distillery was founded in 1886 by a Dane named Christiano Matthiessen, an abolitionist engineer who emigrated from Denmark to Brazil to build the main roads that the country now knows. Our engineer buys a farm with the help of Pudente Morais, the President of Brazil at the time. They started making exotic wood furniture as well as coffee roasting. As they went, they planted and harvested sugar cane and distilled a cachaça for their own consumption. It is from 1900 that the production of this sugar cane brandy will take on its full meaning.
Today, his heirs continue the thousand-year-old tradition, producing this exceptional cachaça.

The wood used to make the bottle caps is part of a PEFC-certified approach The This is the program for the endorsement of forest certifications. A very good reason to taste this Cachaça.
