Domaine de Charron Vintage 1999

The vineyards of the Domaine de Charron develop on the tawny soils of Bas Armagnac. Fruit of the alliance of land and sea, which withdrew only at the fence of the Tertiary, these sandy-clay soils, enriched by iron oxides, embody the character and nobility of Lower Armagnac.

Son of the folle blanche and the noah, baco is a grape variety exclusively represented in the AOC Armagnac. Its lower susceptibility to vine diseases makes it an ecological grape variety, but everyone agrees that its main quality is its ability to work wonders when it exchanges with oak wood during the long years of aging in barrels: 21 years

This 1999 vintage Armagnac was born from a distillation at 52.53 ° in traditional Armagnaca copper still heated with wood. This vintage is bottled without reduction, to the natural degree of the barrel.

Our tasting notes for Vintage 1999

The story began at the beginning of the last century in Perquie in the Landes on the vineyards of the great-grandmother of Jacques and Claude Lartigue. From these vines planted entirely with Baco grape varieties, wine was made sold to the cooperative and it was not uncommon for a few pieces of Armagnac to emerge depending on the year.
