Bearing the characteristics of the original rum Bundaberg, Underproof delivers an intense character, although it is smooth. Aged in the fertile soil, the finest sugar cane is sent to be crushed at Bundaberg Sugar Mill, not far from the distillery. Very rich, sweet molasses is produced, fermented, distilled twice and then enclosed to age in oak barrels still handmade today by a family of coopers.
