A blend of two emblematic terroirs

This third edition of The East India Company's Small Batches brings together two major distilleries: Foursquare (Barbados) and Diamond (Guyana). This harmonious marriage combines the woody richness of Barbadian rum with the aromatic depth of Guyanese rum, sublimated by careful aging in single barrels.

An intense and gourmet rum

The nose opens with a light smoke, reminiscent of well-toasted oak, then gives way to caramelized nuts and a touch of vanilla. On the palate, toasted wood is balanced with notes of coconut and sweet spices. The finish, long and generous, reveals a fruity layer that elegantly prolongs the tasting.

Our tasting notes for Barbagaya 14 years old

Nose : Mélange délicat et parfumé, sur les fruits mécérés puis des parfums de sucre d'orge, miel, pêche et épices douces évoquant les plats orientaux.

Palate : L'attaque est franche sur des notes de miel et d'épices, puis se poursuit sur le sucre d'orge et la mélasse fumée. Le milieu de bouche offre des pointes de gousses de vanille entremêlées d'arôme de rhubarbe et de réglisse.

Finish : Delicieux mariange d'eaux de vie fruitées et de notes boisées.

The idea was born from the Portuguese, English, Dutch and French East India companies of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, which selected rare commodities from distant lands and imported them into their respective countries. Like the latter, we select the best qualities of rum and import them in France.
