Excellence Rhum at Bordeaux Rhum Festival 2023

Bordeaux was once again the French capital of rum for a weekend, June 10 and 11. Good humor, sharing, discovery, pleasure, everything that makes a successful rum fair was there. Many enthusiasts came for this 2023 edition. They were able to stroll through the sometimes narrow aisles of the show to find well-known brands such as Savanna, Saint-James, Ferroni, Bally, Abuelo, Trois Rivières, Depaz, Flor de Cana, Isautier, Saint-Aubin, La Favorite or to discover others like Sodade, Opportune 1791, Koloa, By 619, Yucakeke or Canoubier Rhum.

Among the expected novelties there was the Savanna Unshared Cask, the Savanna Herr Japan Tribute, the Depaz 2011, the Saint-James single cask 2001 but also other rums previously presented at Rhum Fest Paris and which the people of Bordeaux were able to discover on home ground, such as Père Labat cane jaune, Braud and Quennesson and the new harvests of Baie des Trésors.

For this 2023 edition, Excellence Rhum presented its first cuvées of the year!

Excellence Rhum presented its cuvées

On the occasion of its 10th anniversary, Excellence Rhum has selected several cuvées that will be released throughout the year.

The first rum presented is the Cuvée Eminente, 10 years old, created on the occasion of the joint anniversary of Excellence Rhum and the Confrérie du Rhum. Batch 2 was offered for tasting. Fans have been able to discover notes of cocoa, coupled with a slightly smoky aspect and reinforced by a more fruity finish. This cuvée has been available for sale since June 10.

The 2023 ExcellenceRhum Collection

Bottled in our Excellence Rhum collection, three expressions of Bielle rum were also available for tasting. A 5-year-old Bielle, ex-bourbon cask, cask strength, gave fruity notes in the pure tradition of this prestigious distillery. Another 10-year-old rum, ex-sherry cask, carried a fruity attack that quickly slid towards a carpet of spices, transcended with a minty touch. Finally, a column strength, spent in tuns for 18 months, then in vats for 12 months, brought up remarkable flavors of key lime pie.

These selections will be available for sale at the end of summer 2023.
