Bordeaux Rum Festival 2025: an intimate and sunny edition

The Bordeaux Rhum Festival 2025 was held on Saturday, June 14, in the elegant and bright setting of the Palais de la Bourse. This edition, condensed into a single day and divided into two distinct sessions, charmed attendees with its intimate atmosphere, the quality of its hospitality, and the warmth that emerged from it.

An edition marked by sobriety and quality

In a challenging economic climate for many producers, the selection of brands present was more limited than in previous years. However, this more intimate format allowed for excellent tasting conditions: air conditioning was running, there was no dense crowd, and the room was bathed in natural light with an unobstructed view of the Place de la Bourse.

The decor, always carefully designed, contributed to the sense of escape: palm trees, bamboo, relaxation areas—everything was thoughtfully arranged to immerse visitors in the world of rum. Another highlight worth mentioning: the quality of the tasting glasses provided, which matched the standard of the spirits on offer.

Excellence Rhum, a loyal partner of the festival

A partner of the Bordeaux Rhum Festival since its second edition, Excellence Rhum once again reaffirmed its commitment to the event this year. Although we were not physically present with a traditional shop, we offered a specially designed temporary virtual shop for the festival. Visitors enjoyed free delivery within 48 hours, an elegant way to extend the experience at home.

The major new release: the Confrérie du Rhum cuvée by Rhum J.M

Among the standout new releases of this edition, the Confrérie du Rhum cuvée, crafted by the Rhum J.M distillery, drew particular attention. This organic white rum, rested for nearly three years in stainless steel tanks, embodies both the craftsmanship of Martinique and the high standards upheld by the administrators of the renowned Facebook community.

Encounters and discoveries

Despite the regrettable absence of the major La Martiniquaise houses (likely due to current budget constraints), the festival saw the notable arrival of new brands:

Barlovento, a rum from Guatemala, charmed with its approachable and spiced profile.

Big O Brevages, an artisanal house of infused rums, offered bold and fruity creations.

The organizers were, of course, present. While Alexandra Bernet, ever discreet, preferred to avoid individual portraits, she can still be seen in the group photo alongside BenoĂźt Bail, Jerry Gitany, and the radiant Pascale Constance, all iconic figures in the French-speaking rum world. An event to mark down for 2026

The 2025 edition proved that a smaller format could be just as high-quality—if not more so. The Bordeaux Rhum Festival remains a unique event on the calendar, driven by true passion and flawless organization.
