Champagne, the secret life of bubbles
In each glass, more than 2,000 million bubbles are at work to amaze our senses. They are the ones who sculpt the "sensation" of wine when tasted, they also release aromatic molecules, they also give meaning to the word "sparkle". The chemist Gérard Liger-Belair was the first to photograph, thanks to a technical feat, the intimate journey of bubbles, from the enigmatic moment of their formation to their graceful ascent and finally, their bursting. His photos allow us to enter a fascinating world where science, art and imagination have no borders, where the spectacular is there for the pleasure of the eyes but also that of the palate. For this journey in The Secret Life of Bubbles, Gérard Liger-Belair is accompanied by two exceptional "scouts": the philosopher Michel Onfray and Dominique Demarville, master of the cellars of Veuve-Cliquot, who cross their eyes and their imaginations.
