Christian Drouin 17 years old rum finish Savanna Angels
History
The Experimental Range of Christian Drouin explores the great origins of rum (Jamaica, Barbados, Martinique, Trinidad & Tobago) before opening up to Reunion Island and the Savanna distillery. In business since 1870, Savanna produces rums with character: great aromas, agricultural and traditional. For this edition, casks that have contained traditional rums aged between 9 and 14 years have been selected, aiming for a precise and elegant expression.
Product Overview
Starting point: a Calvados Pays d'Auge 17 year old, rich, powerful, marked by roasted apples. It has been finished for 6 to 9 months in ex-Savanna rum barrels, bringing an exotic and spicy dimension without masking the terroir. Rated at 47.5% vol., this cuvée is aimed at lovers of fine spirits, rum finish, barrel aging and daring blends.
Tasting notes
Nose: vanilla, praline, then musk and dried fruit. Palate: intense, slender, marked by spices. Finish: aromas of brown sugar and cooked apple line the palate, reminiscent of the Calvados-rum alliance.
