Christian Drouin Calvados
Christian Drouin, Living Heritage Company
Located in the Pays d'Auge, the Christian Drouin house grows 35 varieties of cider apples on orchards run organically. Labeled Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (EPV), it has been awarded more than 289 medals in international competitions, making it one of the most awarded Calvados producers in the world.
Double distillation and oak ageing
In accordance with the Pays d'Auge appellation, this Calvados is obtained by double distillation in Charentais stills, a process that guarantees the finesse and aromatic concentration of the distillate. After aging in French oak barrels, it develops a complex bouquet of cooked apple, butter, vanilla and sweet spices, punctuated by floral touches. On the palate, the substance is silky and fruity, with a nice length where the ripe fruit persists. A tasting Calvados that seduces both lovers of French spirits and the curious in search of new experiences.
