The climate in 2006 was generally hot and dry, although contrasting. If July is scorching, August is abnormally cool and humid. It is the almost summery character of September that makes the vintage, drying out the few botrytis outbreaks and offering a maturity well above average. The harvest begins on September 11 and lasts nearly four weeks.
