Dictador 2 Masters Hardy Vintage 1974 & 1977
The alliance of Colombian rum and cognac Hardy
The 2 Masters de Dictador collection embodies the meeting between Colombian rum know-how and the greatest European spirits houses. This edition brings together two vintage rums — 1974 and 1977 — distilled in Cartagena de Indias and aged for decades in a tropical climate. They were then refined in barrels of Hardy cognac, a Charente house founded in 1863, adding layers of exceptional complexity.
A monument of patience and rarity
The nose reveals deep aromas of candied fruit, cocoa, blond tobacco and currants, enriched by the notes of rancio and ancient oak of the cognac. The palate is of a rare opulence , velvety, with an endless length on notes of leather, prunes and noble spices. Each bottle is numbered and presented in a case worthy of this priceless collector's item.
Our tasting notes for 2 Masters Hardy Vintage 1974 & 1977
Nose : Ginger snaps at first and a beautiful note of stone fruits comes throughin the glass. This is backed by smoke, delicate toffee and strawberry notes, witha hint of grape.
Palate : The ginger notes on the palate set up spices of cracked black pepperand vanilla which give way to plums, toasted coconut and black cherry. Thesecome back with another wave of oak spices before more of the red fruits cometo the fore.
Finish : An oaky vanilla with subtle spices and some cigar smoke comes throughgiving a long and lingering finish.
