Santiago de Cuba, the birthplace of the Cuban ron
Santiago de Cuba, a city founded in 1515 on the eastern coast of the island, is considered the cradle of Cuban rum production. It is in this city that the Roneros maestros perpetuate a centuries-old know-how, combining column distillation, tropical ageing in white oak barrels and the art of blending.
A light, versatile and classic ron
Ron Santiago de Cuba Añejo is a light ron, made from cane molasses according to the traditional Cuban method. After distillation, the rum is aged in oak barrels and then filtered and blended by the master rum maker. At 38°, it has a golden colour and an engaging nose, mixing vanilla, ripe fruit and light wood. The palate is supple and rounded, carried by notes of caramel, blond tobacco and sweet spices. This versatile ron can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks or in classic Cuban cocktails — Cuba Libre, Mojito — where its discreet profile gives pride of place to other ingredients.

At the end of the 19th century, the great Cuban rum distilleries and thus the great Cuban rum were born. One of the largest distilleries is located in Santiago de Cuba, the capital of Cuban culture. The cradle of great rum creations is located there, it is distilled and bottled.
