The first barrel, having contained a rough column aguardiente with an intensity of 75%, rested several years on the greatest height of the cellar to guarantee optimal interaction with the wood and concentrated flavors. The second barrel, having contained a reduced aguardiente for 10 years, offers an elegant aromatic richness to this exceptional cuvée. These two barrels are assembled and give birth to two batches.
This 2012 vintage is offered in fullproof, a world first in the Cuban rum landscape! With two separate batches of 330 bottles each, both grading at 55.5%. Only 330 bottles of the first batch will be available worldwide, exclusively on the excellencerhum.com website as well as at the shop.
The batch (barrel) and bottle number are handwritten on the back label. The bottling was done by hand in Santa Clara in the Roñera Eminente.
The official release of this cuvée is scheduled for June 10, 2023, on the occasion of the Bordeaux Rhum Festival. Eminente is a new Cuban rum, made in the heart of an island that its inhabitants nickname "Isla del Cocodrilo", its unusual shape evoking that of its endemic crocodile. Imagined by César Martí, younger Maestro Ronero (Master Rum Maker), Eminente is a rich and structured rum drawing its inspiration from the Cuban cane eaux-de-vie of the nineteenth century, characterized by their aromatic complexity.
