The history of Oliver & Oliver has its roots in Cuba , where rum production took place from the 1870s until the 1959 revolution. In the mid-80s, the Oliver family decided to revive the tradition and set up a distillery in Saint-Dominique in the Dominican Republic, which benefited from a climate and soils similar to those of their island of origin, Cuba.
