When you dive into the composition of this rum, you discover that it is made from molasses, a choice that gives it a particular richness. Distilled in a column still, the Cihuatán Suerte spends up to 17 years in new American oak barrels, a guarantee of its superior quality and nuanced taste.

Amateurs will be delighted with its tasting notes. On the nose, it offers a symphony of candied figs, cookies and artisanal sesame candies. The first sip reveals a round palate, with flavours of salted caramel, toasted oak and a touch of cinnamon. And as with any great finish, it's long and marked by espresso and oak undertones.

This rum is just one of the wonders offered by the Cihuatán distillery. The full range offers other nuggets such as the Indigo Cihuatán and the Cinabrio rum.

Cihuatán

In Mayan language, Cihuatán means "the earth next to the sleeping woman" in reference to the Guazapa Mountain whose lines reveal the shape of a woman, goddess who would have conferred wealth and fertility to the surrounding lands. It is on this ancestral legend that the history of Cihuatán rums begins, true ambassadors of El Salvador who reveal all its richness and know-how.
