A tribute to Mayan heritage

El Salvador's first distillery, Cihuatán draws its inspiration from Mayan history and legends. Xaman, god of the North Star, gives his name to this refined XO rum, designed with the greatest care to reveal deep and original aromas.

Rare and controlled ageing

This out-of-age rum rests for 15 years in Bourbon barrels, then benefits from an exceptional refinement in Ceiba barrels, an exotic wood with unique aromatic properties. This process gives it a rare complexity and an inimitable signature.

On the nose, Cihuatán Xaman XO seduces with aromas of grilled pineapple, leather and a subtle hint of balsamic vinegar. On the palate, notes of fresh grass and sweet spices harmonize perfectly, offering an elegant and memorable tasting.

Cihuatán

In Mayan language, Cihuatán means "the earth next to the sleeping woman" in reference to the Guazapa Mountain whose lines reveal the shape of a woman, goddess who would have conferred wealth and fertility to the surrounding lands. It is on this ancestral legend that the history of Cihuatán rums begins, true ambassadors of El Salvador who reveal all its richness and know-how.
