Longueteau Cuvée Excellence Rhum
Since 1895, the Longueteau Distillery has been making an Agricultural Rum from the sugar cane plantations of the Domaine du Marquisat de Sainte-Marie, located at the foot of the Soufrière massif.
Longueteau stands out as the first distillery in Guadeloupe to take a meticulous approach to harvesting, treating each plot individually and separating sugarcane varieties. This method highlights the exceptional know-how of the distillery and the unique richness of the Guadeloupean terroir. Through this detailed practice of farming, Longueteau celebrates the art of distillation while honoring the diversity and quality of its sugar cane, ensuring rums of unparalleled quality.
Plot N°9 comes from a plot cultivated in a wetland, surrounded by streams and the estate's fruit plantations. The rum reveals a more supple character. The first notes are sweet, almost woody, to give way to a round and fine finish.
The Excellence Rhum team had the honour of making a selection of white rum at a very singular degree of bottling (64%). Thus, the rum rested for more than 2 years in stainless steel vats with regular stirring to enhance its aromatic profile.
Careful selection
In mars 2022, Florent Lenziani, our Store Manager, and Alexandre Beudet, CEO, went directly to the site to select the perfect cuvée, specially chosen to satisfy the demanding connoisseurs of Excellence Rhum.
About the design of this bottle
The illustration of the label and the box is inspired by both Creole architecture and Parisian rooftops and monuments, in homage to the two worlds: that of Excellence Rhum, the emblematic boutique in the 6th arrondissement of Paris, and that of the typical houses of Guadeloupe, where the distillery of the Longueteau family is located. By assembling the four boxes, this fresco is reconstructed in an elegant "line art" style, designed by the Global 2S Design agency.
A collector's bottle of rum
Each bottle is carefully numbered from 1 to 1440. Of these, 480 have been put on sale exclusively in Guadeloupe, while the remaining 960 are reserved for the site and the Excellence Rhum shop.
