The Bologne Grande Réserve is made from the distillation of pure cane juice from the Domaine de Bologne (black cane and red cane). It is a blend of agricultural rums aged 4 to 8 years, mostly 5 years old, aged exclusively in French oak barrels.

François Monroux, General Manager of Bologne rums: "The barrels used come from the Leroi cooperage in Cognac. The new barrels are made of French oak, coming from the cooperage's integrated stave mills. This supply guarantees full traceability and sustainable forest management through PEFC (Pan European Forest Certification). The work on the barrels is carried out in collaboration with our oenologist and in particular the toasting, adapted to the typicity of the rums Bologne ".

Our tasting notes for Great Reserve

Nose : intense, marqué par une note vanillée et délicatement grillée, évoluant vers la canelle et le cacao.

Palate : l’attaque est délicatement épicée, s’étoffant ensuite d’un concentré aromatique très riche: les fruits secs, la figue confite, le pruneau, puis le chocolat noir, des notes de toffee, jusqu’à une pointe iodée.

Finish : Sa persistance impressionnante exprime toute la complexité de son assemblage et de son long vieillissement.
