Samaroli 1998 Guadeloupe Cask N.2

Description by Antonio Bleve, director of Samaroli since 2008:

The French colonial empire represents a crucial piece in the puzzle of Caribbean history. Stretching from Indochina, through Madagascar and the south of the Sahara to Canada and South America, it exported its culture to the rest of the world.

Our Guadeloupe is a non-agricultural, "agricultural style" but distilled from molasses. It is aged in Scotland to reinforce its Franco-Caribbean structure, with a superb body, which has allowed it to exceed twenty years in the barrel. The chocolatey nose with notes of cherries, almonds and dried fruits is a prelude to a torrent of other flavors: maple syrup, forest fruits and minty scents. On the palate, the scale changes but on the same model, enriched with tobacco, vanilla and liquorice.

A spirit in the quintessence of the Samaroli style: refined, fascinating and intriguing.
