The first barrels were used to preserve robust American whiskeys, the second delicate sherries and the last elegant Pedro Ximenez wines.
In other words, 3 rows of barrels to educate the youngest rums and offer this large aromatic palette to Zacapa 23.

A gentle start that envelops the complexity of the glass; sweet aromas of caramel, vanilla, cocoa and hard caramel, combined with flavour thicknesses indicative of the solar ageing of the different barrels; notes of caramelized cherries, Brazil nuts and toasted hazelnuts with the fine note of a soft caramel, bananas.
Wonderful, generous and full-bodied complex with a sweet density of a honey, typical of an aged spirit. A great depth of aromas of grapes and dried apricots adjoining a tasty and intense note of oak, nutmeg, leather and tobacco. We also have in this Rum Zacapa 23 years Solera, delicate notes of coffee and vanilla. The balance between a spicy touch of cinnamon and ginger on a pleasant finish in the mouth.
