Pyrat XO
Planters Gold then became Pyrat Rum. The now Pyrat Rum spread throughout the Caribbean and landed in Europe. But Anguilla Rums Ltd closed around the year 2010, and production was moved to Guyana. Pyrat is now produced at Demerara Distillers Ltd. and bottled at Diamond's bottling plant.
Pyrat Rum is made from nine different types of rums made from molasses, distilled in stills and columns, and aged in barrels between 3 and 15 years. At the end of individual ageing, the rums have an alcohol content of 45 to 54% vol. Once blended, they are aged again in French Limousin oak barrels and American toasted oak barrels.
