In the mouth, the body is powerful, soft, well balanced.
The finish is powerful and complex, with some roasted notes, cooked fruit (prunes), and citrus in compote (orange jam).

Aged 8 years, the Five Star rum, or "Special Reserve" is all in balance. It is excellent dry, but can be enjoyed with ice cubes, embellished with a zest of lemon, to reveal all its subtleties.

In 1862, Dupré Barbancourt, originally from Charente (France), put the finishing touches on a rum that still bears his name today.
