Glenmorangie 18 years Azuma Makoto Limited Edition
He finds a bouquet of honeysuckle, sweet peas, jasmine and geranium mixed with notes of dried fruits and honey. He then came up with the idea of translating the aromas of this Single Malt into a flower design. It is in his studio in Tokyo that Azuma Makoto, after sketching his ideas, will create a sculpture and photograph it. Composed of a hundred flowers, it takes those he smelled in whisky, Scottish flowers and varieties from countries where Glenmorangie is present. Azuma Makoto then came up with the idea of scattering petals on the artistic creation as it was photographed and filmed. His work is presented on the whisky box and labels.
" When I tasted Glenmorangie 18 years old for the first time, I had the impression that this whisky unfolded like a blooming flower. I felt so many flowers enveloping my palate that I wanted to create this limited edition," says Azuma Makoto.
Glenmorangie 18 years old is a Single Malt appreciated by spirits lovers. Straight out of the imagination of its creators, this whisky is first and foremost a delicate fruity distillate, made in stills as high as the size of a giraffe, to extract a maximum of aromas. It is then aged in bourbon barrels for 15 years, before some of it is transferred to sherry barrels for another three years. After 18 years, the liquid from these barrels are brought together to create the aromas of this Single Malt whisky.

Nose : Des notes de chocolat noir à la menthe, de mandarine et d'orange de Séville se mélangent à du bois de santal et à de la noix avant de céder le pas à une note finale épicée mêlant poivre et noix de muscade.
Palate : Le palais est envahi par un goût de chocolat à la menthe et de noix, qui laisse place aux saveurs douces de rose, de loukoum et d'oranges de Séville sucrées.
Finish : Long arrière-goût soyeux et persistant maintenant des notes de chocolat noir à la menthe et des traces d'orange.
