Knappogue Castle 1995 Ex Libris The Devoted Friend

Particularly nuanced, the aromatic palette of this version distilled in 1995 begins by building a malted bone that will serve as its backbone. Moreover, never short of arguments, she oscillates between classicism and originality.

In terms of taste, proud of its origins, it is with remarkable precision that it is alternately exotic, creamy, herbaceous, medicinal, powdery and wonderfully acidulous.

Knappogue Castle

In 1966, Mark Edwin Andrews bought Knappogue Castle, a fifteenth-century castle in Ireland, which was then in ruins. He and his wife, a prominent architect, embarked on an ambitious restoration program, with the aim of restoring the structure to its original state of glory and grandeur. It was around this time that Andrews began buying potted fine whisky barrels from the best distilleries in the country. The barrels were further aged and bottled under what is now the Knappogue Castle label.
