An artistic and spirits collaboration

For this third edition of the Magnum collection , La Maison du Whisky and Velier invite Spanish photographer Cristina De Middel to explore the mythical Hampden distillery, located in the parish of Trelawny in Jamaica. His unique gaze captures the fascinating atmosphere of this place steeped in history — between tropical humidity, lush vegetation and industrial architecture. Four iconic shots illustrate the traffic jams in this exclusive series.

A rum with a strong Hampden style

Distilled in 2016 and aged for nine years, the Hampden LROK 9 Year Old (Light Rum Owen Kelly) has an ester level of between 200 and 400 g/hlap, the aromatic signature of the Hampden style. This rum of remarkable intensity accurately expresses vibrant floral and fruity notes, punctuated by typical hydrocarbon nuances. On the finish, lingering scents of vetiver testify to the complexity and depth of this authentic spirit.

Hampden Estate

Built around 1750 the Hampden distillery originally belonged to a Scotsman Archibald Sterling. Hampden is known for its heavy rums distilled in copper stills. The fermentation is long and natural (no use of commercial yeasts).
