A collaboration between art and tradition

For this third edition, the Magnum collection is anchored in the Hampden distillery, located in the parish of Trelawny in Jamaica. Invited by La Maison du Whisky and Velier, Spanish photographer Cristina De Middel captured the raw and poetic essence of the place through four shots chosen to adorn the bottles of this limited series. This encounter between author photography and rum craftsmanship illustrates the search for authenticity and depth shared by these worlds.

A rum with an extreme character

Distilled in an iron still , the Hampden DOK 4 Year Old has an exceptional ester content of between 1,500 and 1,600 g/hlap, a symbol of the distillery's "heavy pot still" style. Aged for four years in a tropical climate, this rum reveals a striking aromatic intensity, combining power and complexity. Its aromas evolve on tropical, medicinal and mineral notes, reflecting all the richness of a singular spirit, reserved for lovers of thrills and extroverted profiles.

Hampden Estate

Built around 1750 the Hampden distillery originally belonged to a Scotsman Archibald Sterling. Hampden is known for its heavy rums distilled in copper stills. The fermentation is long and natural (no use of commercial yeasts).
