An artistic and sensory collaboration

For this third edition, the Magnum Photos range honors the Hampden distillery, located in the parish of Trelawny, Jamaica. Invited by La Maison du Whisky and Velier, Spanish photographer Cristina De Middel captured the unique atmosphere of this historic place: tropical humidity, bewitching fermentation, lush vegetation and mysterious architecture. His shots, imbued with surrealism and visual poetry, adorn the bottles of this exclusive series.

An iconic rum of the Hampden style

Distilled in 2016 and aged for 9 years, Hampden LROK (Light Rum Owen Kelly) has an ester concentration of between 200 and 400 g/hlap, typical of the house's aromatic profile. This version illustrates with refinement the controlled power of Jamaican rum: aromas of hydrocarbons, floral and fruity nuances of great vivacity, prolonged by a marked persistence on notes of vetiver. A large 150 cl format that sublimates both the art and the craftsmanship of rum.

Hampden Estate

Built around 1750 the Hampden distillery originally belonged to a Scotsman Archibald Sterling. Hampden is known for its heavy rums distilled in copper stills. The fermentation is long and natural (no use of commercial yeasts).
