In the 1940s, Berry Bros & Co became Berry Bros & Rudd Ltd. The beautifully preserved Jamaican rum, with an alcohol content of 70° Proof, or 35%, bears the full name of the house on its label, one of the most prestigious houses in London.

Although we cannot know the distillery or distilleries from which it came, it is likely that this rum dates from the 1940s. Indeed, the maximum price indicated on the label of the bottle "Maximum price 27 /- per bottle" will increase to "35/4 per bottle" following the budget voted in the United Kingdom for the period November 1947-April 1948.
