Long established Long Pond Distillery, based in Jamaica's Trelawny District, consisted of a sugar factory and a distillery. It was split in 2009. Hampden, the current owner, is inspired by the "Wedderburn" style, named after the first deeply biting rums shipped to Wedderburn Webster from London, in the late 1700s.

Our tasting notes for Jamaica - 12 years old (Longpond)

Nose : Nez sur le caramel, la vanille, le beurre,mais aussi les fruits exotiques avec de la mangue et de la papaye.

Palate : La bouche est ronde, avec des arômes de crème brûlée, de noisettes grillées et caramélisées.

Finish : La finale est souple, douce et équilibrée entre les fruits à coque et son coté épicé.

Compagnie des Indes rums are made with care and elegance. The idea was born from the Portuguese, English, Dutch and French East India companies of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, which selected rare commodities from distant lands and imported them into their respective countries. Like the latter, we select the best qualities of rum and import them in France. Compagnie des Indes rums, whether bottled in Single Casks or assembled to bring out the typicality and qualities of each destination, are selected with great rigor.
