This rum has been softened, enriched and tamed in the cellars of Maison Ferrand in Charente (France). A powerful rum with a lot of character rated four stars by Paul Pacult in the Spirit Journal 2015.

Long fermentation and pot still is the equation that has contributed to Jamaica's centuries-old reputation and powerful, assertive rums. Pineapple, mango and citrus give it its gluttony while the spices and a chiseled plant register make it a rare and racy rum.

Fermentation : Plummer: 5 days, Wedderburn: 5 days, high esters: 2 weeks

Distillation : 2001, ironing (Potstill)

Tropical Aging: eleven years in Bourbon barrels, Jamaica Continental Aging, Ageing: two years in Pierre Ferrand barrels, Château de Bonbonnet, France

Did you know?

The label refers to Port Royal in Jamaica. It is a strong emblem of the island because it was the seat of the British government in Jamaica, as well as being the main fishing and trading port.

The house of Cognac, Cognac Ferrand is at the origin of this fascinating brand that is Plantation Rum. Maison Ferrand originally maintained privileged relationships with the best distilleries in the Caribbean to which it sells barrels that have contained its Cognac. The barrels of the Ferrand house are very popular with some rum producers who use them to refine their product. During these exchanges, Alexandre Gabriel had the opportunity to discover very old batches with an aromatic richness and a diversity of extraordinary aromas.
