This Plantation Single Cask rum, distilled at Clarendon ( mark MBK) is a limited edition Haute Couture rum. After a first aging in Bourbon barrels in Jamaica for 18 years, the rum joined the Château de Bonbonnet in France, for a new aging in barrels of Borderies X.O cognac of the Maison Ferrand for 1 year.

This is this unique barrel, a real favorite for the team of enthusiasts that we are within Excellence Rhum. We tasted it and selected it by us in the cellars of the Château de Bonbonnet 2020. Thus, each Plantation Single Cask has a unique aging, and each bottle is numbered. Only a few barrels of these rums are bottled each year, making these expressions real collector's items. Limited edition of 144 bottles including 42 bottles numbered for Excellence Rhum. The MBK mark corresponds to a rate of congeners (esters) of 60 to 90 gr/hlaap (hectolitre of pure alcohol) at the time of distillation. At the time of bottling the ester rate climbed (thanks to tropical aging) to reach 256 gr / hlaap and 1251 gr / hlaap of volatile compounds (TNA).

The house of Cognac, Cognac Ferrand is at the origin of this fascinating brand that is Plantation Rum. Maison Ferrand originally maintained privileged relationships with the best distilleries in the Caribbean to which it sells barrels that have contained its Cognac. The barrels of the Ferrand house are very popular with some rum producers who use them to refine their product. During these exchanges, Alexandre Gabriel had the opportunity to discover very old batches with an aromatic richness and a diversity of extraordinary aromas.
