The Hampden distillery in Jamaica has developed its reputation with very aromatic rums marked by these famous esters. This version of the 2010 vintage is an LROK (Light Rum Owen Kelly), a "light" rum full of indulgence that takes up Hampden markers such as roasted pineapple, a slight volatile touch, fresh vegetal notes.

The contribution of the cask allowed this colorful rum to develop a patina and gain in greediness with more buttery and jammy notes.

But what does the LROK mark mean?

LROK (Light Rum Owen Kelly) is the most balanced mark in terms of non-alcoholic particles (congeners). We are talking about 300 to 400 gr/hlaap of ester.

Hampden Estate

Built around 1750 the Hampden distillery originally belonged to a Scotsman Archibald Sterling. Hampden is known for its heavy rums distilled in copper stills. The fermentation is long and natural (no use of commercial yeasts).
