This version of the 2018 vintage is an (Owen Kelly Light Rum), a "punchy" and young rum, all in greediness that takes up Hampden markers such as roasted pineapple, a slight volatile touch, fresh vegetal notes.

The addition of the cask allowed this colourful rum to develop a patina and gain in greediness with more buttery and jammy notes.

But what does the LROK mark mean?

LROK (Light Rum Owen Kelly) is the punchiest mark while keeping a good balance in terms of non-alcoholic particles (congeners). We are talking about 300 to 450 gr/hlaap of ester.

Hampden Estate

Built around 1750 the Hampden distillery originally belonged to a Scotsman Archibald Sterling. Hampden is known for its heavy rums distilled in copper stills. The fermentation is long and natural (no use of commercial yeasts).
