A family heritage and a unique know-how

Founded by Ichiro Akuto, Ichiro's Malt continues a family tradition dating back to the Hanyu distillery, which has been in operation since 1625. After Hanyu closed in 2000, Ichiro Akuto rescued his precious casks and founded his own distillery in Chichibu, where he continues to innovate while respecting Japanese and Scottish artisanal methods.

An exceptional blend

Ichiro's Malt & Grain 2021 is a blend of Japanese and international whiskies, aged in a selection of sherry, wine and bourbon casks. This diversity of ageing gives this whisky a rich and nuanced aromatic palette.

Ichiro's

The eponymous brand refers to Ichiro Akuto - grandson of the founder of the legendary Hanyu distillery (who stopped production in 2000). Ichiro then founded the nearby Chichibu distillery and managed to save a number of Hanyu barrels. Japanese distiller Ichiro Akuto's whiskies are among the most popular in the world.
