In February 2017, during Luca's visit to Marie Galante, along with Gianni Vittorio Capovilla and Jérôme Thierry, the three had tasted several barrels at the Bielle distillery. Luca chose between these two similar barrels and neighbours of the same cellar, the 217 and the 218, both distilled in 2007.

1947 - 70th anniversary Velier - 2017

The No. 217 barrel was transported to the beach of St Louis in charrette pulled by oxen and then swam to the sailboat on Tres Hombres.

The sailboat made a long transoceanic journey to Europe in order to be able to bottle this cask to give birth to 250 bottles, not one more!

It is interesting to compare the 217 cask transported by sail, and the 218 cask bottled directly at Bielle in Marie Galante.
