Origin and know-how of the distillery

Developed in Martinique, Braud & Quennesson - VO highlights a demanding approach to rum production. The canes come from the Fond-Poterie and Palmiste plots, reflecting a strong territorial anchorage. The distillery values meticulous work, from harvest to bottling, with particular attention paid to aromatic balance.

Rum ageing and profile

This rum is the result of a blend of cuvées aged for three years in ex-Bourbon oak barrels, new French oak and ex-Cognac. This diversity of wood gives complexity and structure. After blending, a slow reduction of nine months refines the integration of the aromas. The influence of the Cognac casks brings depth and richness, enhancing the character of the spirit.

Aromatic expression

The nose reveals pastry notes of scorched sugar, pecan vanilla and a delicate woodiness, enhanced by a freshness of citrus. Aromas of praline, toasted hazelnut, mocha and nutmeg appear with aeration. On the palate, the attack is soft, with a full texture. The palette confirms nuances of caramel, sweet spices and stewed fruit, offering a fine, structured and elegant profile.

The Habitation Grand Fonds, which houses the Braud & Quennesson rum distillery, named after the engineers who created the sugar factory, was built in 1866.
