The legacy of Jacques Bally

J. Bally's XO Heritage is a tribute to the founder Jacques Bally, a visionary who was the first to age and vintage Martinique rums in 1924. This XO is a blend of agricultural rums aged for a minimum of 6 years, selected from the best barrels of the Carbet cellars. It embodies the house's philosophy of excellence.

Nobility and harmony

The nose is seductive and complex: sandalwood, intense vanilla, chocolate, candied fruit and oriental spices. The palate is full and silky, with flavours of butterscotch, tobacco, pecans, fine leather and prunes. The finish is long and beautifully elegant. An XO that honors the heritage of the house and is an excellent gateway to very old Bally rums.

Our tasting notes for XO Legacy

Nose : Open nose where vanilla outweigh.

Palate : Lively and spicy beginning (black pepper and ginger), living little room for vanilla and fruits aromas. The rum’s body is light, leaving a dry delicacy which quickly evolves to astringency.

Finish : The persistence is average, still on the pepper even if the vanilla makes a remarkable comeback after the final.
