Distillery heritage

The Bally brand has its origins in the Habitation Lajus, created in the middle of the seventeenth century in Martinique. Jacques Bally, an engineer from Arts et Manufactures, bought the property in 1917 and transformed the sugar refinery into a distillery. In 1930, he created the famous pyramid bottle that would make the brand world-renowned.

Ageing and maturation

This vintage old rum was distilled in 1993 and then carefully aged in oak barrels. Although the Bally distillery has been closed since 1989, the stills continue to operate under the supervision of the Simon distillery, preserving the original recipe and the Martinique AOC.

Flavour profile

This vintage develops a dark mahogany colour with copper reflections. The nose reveals a remarkable complexity with notes of nuts, dried fruits and vanilla. On the palate, the character of oak harmonizes with aromas of dried fruit and herbs, offering a long and intense finish marked by notes of biscuits and dried figs.

J.Bally is one of the oldest distilleries in Martinique. Its rums are characterized by the finesse of their aromas, a good roundness in the mouth and a great fruity richness.
