Born in Paris in 1928 to Russian parents, Elliott Erwitt was president of the Magnum agency in the late 1960s and remains one of the world's leading photographers today. He is particularly famous for the satirical humour he shows in his work and for a humanist sensibility dear to the Magnum esprit .
