About the rum Long Pond your cask

It is naturally a rum distilled from Jamaican molasses in a John Dore pot still. Distillation was carried out at Long Pond (VRW) in 2018, with an alcohol content of 55%. The rum that will be casked has been aged for 2 years in the tropics, then 2 years in Cognac barrels in the cellars of Plantation Rum, in France. Finally, the 3rd ageing is the one we offer you, in the incredible floating cellar of Barge 166. You will be able to follow the evolution of your rum which will age in a 30-litre barrel, for a maximum of two years. It will be a new oak barrel, from the Allary cooperage, prepared specifically for this experience.

You are the (cellar) master

To age your rum on Barge 166 is to commit to a personalized experience. On a 1948 Freycinet barge, your rum will evolve in a new environment, lulled by the undulations of the Seine. The temperature will vary greatly throughout the year. Between June and September, it can rise above 40° and drop to 2° during the winter. The humidity level will fluctuate between 70 and 85%

Raise Your Own Rum

During aging, you will have the opportunity to taste it several times in order to follow the delicate development of the flavors. This way, you can stop aging your rum at any time when it has reached the taste you want.

On request, we will go to take a sample from your keg, a few days later, you will receive your sample at your home.

Make your way to the Excellence Rhum boutique in Paris, where a spirits advisor and our driver will be waiting to accompany you to Barge 166. My keg, My personalized bottles

When the rum is to your liking, you can choose to bottle it. Your 30-litre barrel will deliver about 55 bottles if we take into account the inevitable but poetic share of the angels. The bottle, embellished with a straw braid, comes in a 50cl format and bears a metal seal drawing "la Barge 166, the flotting cellar". This medallion gives this bottle a rare elegance. The label will indicate the technical characteristics of your rum but above all will be customizable. This way, if you wish, you can put your name or logo on it.

It's up to you!

As soon as you place your order for your barrel, a barrel will be prepared and installed by the cooper, we will affix a metal plate to it with the name of your choice. You will receive your first 60ml sample on day 1 of aging along with all instructions by email.

The stages of your project:

  • 1. Place an order for your keg - You will receive a photo of your keg with a personalized plaque with your name on it.
  • 2. On the first day of aging, you will receive a sample from your barrel.
  • 3. Receive periodic samples from your keg.
  • 4. Decide on the bottling of your cask and receive your 55 personalized bottles.
