Presentation of this Wm Cadenhead

This rum has been made according to the Nicaraguan tradition, using a column still for distillation. After distillation in 2002, it was aged for 11 years in oak barrels in the tropical climate of Nicaragua, which helped develop its complex aromas and depth.

Tasting notes

On the nose, this rum offers rich and enveloping aromas, mixing gently vegetal and spicy notes, with a golden straw sprinkled with curry and anise, followed by ripe exotic fruits and marzipan. Aeration enriches the profile with a more woody side that rolls over honey, caramel and vanilla, without overshadowing the fruity and aromatic soul of the rum. On the palate, after a few sweet notes of toast, the rum develops gourmet and spicy flavors of tonka bean and cinnamon. The sweet and honeyed cane blends effortlessly with the flow of aromas, bringing texture. The fruits are very ripe but not fermented or exuberant, they are rather wise and patina, slightly brioche. The finish reveals a slightly fermented cane, with a character close to cut grass sometimes flirting with notes of asparagus or olive.
