First of all, this Williams & Humbert - Dos Maderas 5+3 rum rests in its place of origin in the Caribbean (Guyana and Barbados) in American oak barrels for 5 years and it is then transported to the W & Humbert warehouse in Andalusia in Spain where it will spend the last phase of its process in barrels, for 3 years, which before aged the sherry wine "Dos Cortados"

Then it is shipped to Williams & Humbert’s installations in Jerez (Spain), where the rum is aged for another 3 years in casks that have previously held the internationally renowned Dos Cortados palo cortado sherry (aged for 20 years, as certified by the Jerez-Xérès-Sherry Regulatory Council).
This two-stage process produces old rum of unique characteristics, with a matchless bouquet and flavour. It is exceptionally smooth. 
Suggestions for consumption: Excellent in a balloon glass either neat or on ice. Superb in elegant mixed drinks and cocktails.
