First, this Williams & Humbert - Dos Maderas 5+3 rum rests in its place of origin in the Caribbean (Guyana and Barbados) in American oak barrels for 5 years and it is then transported to W & Humbert's warehouses in Andalusia in Spain where it will spend the last phase of its process in barrels, for 3 years, who have previously aged the sherry wine "Dos Cortados"

Then it is shipped to Williams & Humbert’s installations in Jerez (Spain), where the rum is aged for another 3 years in casks that have previously held the internationally renowned Dos Cortados palo cortado sherry (aged for 20 years, as certified by the Jerez-Xérès-Sherry Regulatory Council).
This two-stage process produces old rum of unique characteristics, with a matchless bouquet and flavour. It is exceptionally smooth. 
Suggestions for consumption: Excellent in a balloon glass either neat or on ice. Superb in elegant mixed drinks and cocktails.

 

Our tasting notes for Dos Maderas 5+3 (Jeroboam)

Nose : Nez suave, d’une grande douceur vanillée, avec une dominante fruitée, prune et mangue.

Palate : Bouche onctueuse, très aromatique : pruneau, poires cuites, vanille, caramel, relevée par des notes de poivre, d’une remarquable longueur.

Finish : Conclusion : une très originale alliance entre la vanille boisée du rhum et le fruité un peu sirupeux du Pedro Ximénez. L’ensemble est d’un remarquable équilibre, et devrait étonner tous les amateurs de belles eaux-de-vie.
