An iconic rum resurrected

The 1994 Caroni Full Proof Heavy Trinidad Rum Paradise #7 came to life thanks to an exceptional discovery in 2004, when Luca Gargano, CEO of Velier, got his hands on some forgotten casks from Caroni. Aged for fourteen years in Trinidad and Tobago, this rum then continued its maturation at Demerara Distillers in Guyana, before ending its journey as a demijohn in the Cognac region in 2019. This meticulous process allows each bottle to reveal the very essence of this defunct distillery.

From the opening, this rum reveals intense notes of hydrocarbons, typical of the Caroni style. As it evolves, it is enriched with noble woody touches and a delicate smoothness, offering a tasting experience that is both complex and harmonious.

The state-owned Caronidistillery in Trinidad and Tobago closed in 2002. After 84 years of practice, she leaves behind a few column stills, ironing stills and a few barrels that will give birth to the vintages* that we offer.
