Our tasting notes for Vintage 2000 - 12 years - 50°

Nose : Chaleureux. Des notes d’hydrocarbures (typique de cette distillerie) arrivent très vite. En le laissant s’ouvrir un peu, on peut y découvrir de la vanille, du chocolat, du réglisse et même un léger fruité.

Palate : Puissante. Les tanins du bois et les épices dominent cette première bouche. Ensuite, vient la confirmation du nez avec la vanille et le chocolat. Un petit côté floral qui n’est pas du tout désagréable se dévoile avant de laisser la place au piment.

Finish : Très longue. Les notes de goudron se marient parfaitement avec le réglisse et les épices style poivre, badiane ou bien encore safran.

The state-owned Caronidistillery in Trinidad and Tobago closed in 2002. After 84 years of practice, she leaves behind a few column stills, ironing stills and a few barrels that will give birth to the vintages* that we offer.
