The Caronidistillery, closed in 2002, has become the most mythical in the world of rum. Located in Chaguanas in Trinidad, it produced rums of a unique, heavy and intensely aromatic style. This 1992 vintage, aged for 20 years and bottled at 60.21% cask strength, is one of the most sought-after expressions. Each bottle of Caroni increases in value over the years, becoming a collector's item as much as a rum.

Legendary Intensity

The nose is exceptionally powerful and complex: tar, motor oil, black fruits, liquorice, coffee and burnt leather. The palate is 60.21% massive , with flavors of ancient molasses, dark tobacco, burnt caramel, bitter chocolate , and intense spice. The finish is endless and smoky. A monumental rum that polarizes — we love it or we respect it — but that leaves no one indifferent.

The state-owned Caronidistillery in Trinidad and Tobago closed in 2002. After 84 years of practice, she leaves behind a few column stills, ironing stills and a few barrels that will give birth to the vintages* that we offer.
